This is for sure a different culture than when I grew up. I still remember getting my first Atari and thinking it was the coolest thing ever. We hooked it up to our little black and white TV in my room and played Pong for hours with my brother.
Obviously not only technology has changed but the rate at which things change has changed. What is "in" now with our 11 and 12 year old's will be out when they are 16 and 17 and not just because they have gotten older. New gaming systems, faster phones, new social media, etc. will replace what they ave now.
I am not writing this because I think we need to unplug and keep our kids from having these things. I am writing this to remind us to keep Jesus at the center. Take the time to read the scripture with your kids, eat a meal together, take your kid on a date. As our world around us changes, we need to work even harder to keep Jesus at the center of our lives. Keep up the great work!
