When there are so many different teens coming to our youth ministry, we have to begin to teach our students how to see with the eyes of Christ. There are many ways we equip our students to engage others that are "different".
One of the things we teach on often is looking at their friends through the eyes of Jesus. When we can begin to see others the way Christ sees them it begins to change our heart, then it changes how we interact with them. Second, we urge our kids to pray for them. Third, ask for ways to connect. Finally, watch for opportunities, and obey when given the chance to interact.
If we can teach students to make these daily habits, I believe God will begin to use them to reach the youth of Seattle and beyond.
